This book outlines the clinical perspective in field research, how it differs from other types of qualitative research and its inherent rewards and difficulties. It makes explicit some of the assumptions and methodologies of the clinical perspective and it constrasts these with other approaches to data gathering and analysis, especially the ethnographic approach.
