There is a great potential that could be exploited from collaborations between corporations and cultural institutions working together. For different reasons, this potential today might be even greater than in precedent times. First, both of these environments are significantly changing and both industrial dimensions are asked to put their identities in question. Furthermore, the community they serve and with which they interact has become an element to put at the core of their strategic evolution. Hence from one side companies harness engagement in socially committed activities to answer growing external pressures for social responsibility, while cultural institutions need the support from the private sector to achieve the viability necessary to grow and the freedom of action that allow them to be seen as entities for innovation. The focus of this research will therefore be to demonstrate that both parties need each other and that they can act as complementary elements to answer to the challenges they are facing in our socio-economic context.
