A surge of innovation disrupting every line of banking services has completely transformed the financial services industry. In the aftermath of the global financial crisis, newcomers have entered the industry, putting traditional players at risk by taking their market share away. Changing customer behavior, a leap in disrupting technologies and new regulations completely challenged the existing status quo and led to the fintech revolution. Prevented by heavy infrastructures, serious organizational concerns and resistance to change, traditional incumbents were rather late to answer and face this emerging threat. After a slow adjustment, they have put in place strategies to avoid being left behind by this new competition. Initially reluctant, banks are increasingly turning to collaboration with fintechs, having realized the numerous synergies emerging from such partnerships.
