This thesis investigates the dynamics of FinTech industry to answer the research question of how a European top-performing startup for fundraising in the financial technology space raises capital. In particular, the work assesses the impact of the digital transformation on the financial services space and, more specifically, analyses how the emergence of new Fintech and Challenger banks has changed the industry and consumer preferences. In order to accomplish its objective, the thesis employs a case-based method, examining the Swedish financial firm Klarna through the lens of a unified theoretical framework.
