This study analyzes the Venture Capital (VC) industries in the US and in Germany. First, The author looks at the history of VC in the two countries, identifying both parallels in the development as well as efforts made by German VCs and public authorities to promote a US-style VC industry in Germany. Secondly, he analyzes the current state of VC in both countries by considering the most relevant internal and external aspects.
