The primary aim of this textbook is to provide management students and practising managers with an understanding of, and a guide to, managing the complexities of organizational change effectively. The techniques and methods that can be used to aid successful change are reviewed and discussed. Real-life case studies are employed to highlight the problems and obstacles encountered in managing change and to illustrate how these barriers can be overcome. These are set in the context of the development of organizational theory and the following themes are explored: organizational design and behavior; approaching change strategically; identifying and overcoming barriers to change; planning and implementing change; and organizational culture and managerial behavior".
