Indeed, Keupp does not limit the economics literature he mobilises to defence economics. Keupp points out an issue that is scarcely dealt with and even less assessed in economics: Do we need to preserve the status quo on the ways and means through which national defence and armed forces are structured? Even though one could criticize how Keupp applies the Austrian and public choice theories to defence matters and more particularly to military forces, this book identifies important topics and issues.
