In recent years, AI become a fundamental component of our life, bringing several transformations across various sectors. The potential of AI to revolutionize industries and in particular the health sector is vast, but its increasing use raises significant concerns regarding its environmental impact. A competitive race as the moon one, is underway among major pharmaceutical companies to develop AI/Gen AI tolls and become the new health leader. All major pharmaceutical companies have made significant environmental commitments to reduce their environmental impact and align with the Paris Agreement. The increasing use of AI within their operation is raising questions about their future ecological footprint. This thesis aims to raise awareness and explore the potential impact of the leverage of AI in the health sector and how “sustainable AI” can mitigate AI’s environmental impact.
