When Peter Hillyard is shot dead the morning after their meeting, Colonel Harry Seddall is suspicious. Aided by his assistant Jane, and Peter's friend Steve, they comb through the dead man's papers. Soon Seddall is enmeshed in a conspiracy which reaches into the heart of the British government.
