"This thesis investigates the effects of private equity funds on Italian fashion industry companies through a comparative analysis of two notable acquisitions: the one of Etro by L Catterton and the one of Stone Island by Moncler. By examining the influence of private equity ownership on these companies, this research aims to provide insights into the dynamics and implications of private equity investments within the Italian fashion industry.
The research adopts a qualitative approach, utilizing a comparative case study methodology to analyze the two acquisitions.
The study explores various dimensions of private equity effects on Italian fashion industry companies, including financial performance, operational improvements, management and strategic changes, innovation and creativity, and brand image.
